Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist-Arlington

Welcome to The Jane Pauley Community Health Center!

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist to provide high-quality treatment and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), with preference given to those who also hold a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) credential.

This role involves facilitating SUD treatment and group therapy sessions, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and long-term success for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate levels of care and treatment plans for individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions focusing on substance use treatment, relapse prevention, coping skills, and mental health concerns.
  • Lead SUD therapy groups, including psychoeducational and process-oriented groups.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical providers, case managers, and peer recovery coaches, to ensure holistic client care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Educate clients and families about addiction, recovery, and available resources to support long-term sobriety.
  • Stay informed of best practices, emerging trends, and updated treatment modalities in the field of addiction and behavioral health.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders regarding the provision of substance use services.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must hold a current LCSW or LMHC license in Indiana.
  • LCAC (Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or a related field.
  • Experience leading SUD therapy groups and working with diverse populations.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health records (EHRs).

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and recovery support services.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to addiction treatment.
  • Certification in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) approaches is a plus.
