Human Resources Manager

Welcome to Jane Pauley Community Health Center! We are seeking a compassionate Human Resources Manger to join our growing team.

Summary

The primary role of the Human Resources Manager within Jane Pauley Community Health Center is to achieve the mission through the development of a new partnership between team members, physicians, and the Organization that is consistent with the Guiding Principles, Mission and Vision. The Human Resources Manager, through their team, will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, recruitment, employee development and employment law compliance. The HR Manager will report directly to the HR Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Guides, coaches and counsels line managers in effective Human resource management strategies, turning leaders into good people managers.
  • Develops, recommends, and administers Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices which support the mission of the organization in partnership with Practice Managers.
  • Manages, evaluates, and resolves employee relations matters through careful analysis, diplomacy, and creative solutions. Reviews employee relations documentation in partnership with leaders.
  • Advises people leaders on training and development needs, retention initiatives, conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures and termination.
  • Partners with HRD and Finance on compensation conversations related to new hire offer letters.
  • Supervises other Human Resources team members.
  • Partners in the strategic planning process with Practice Manager through effective contribution at leadership and staff team meetings and execution at the clinic level.
  • Undertakes special projects that are focused towards identifying areas for improvement of work practices and redesigning.
  • As necessary, Communicates effectively with leadership, clients, peers and others both individually and in-group presentations.
  • Works collaboratively with other functions such as Legal during compliance or accreditation processes.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a professional-level position within Human Resources, or three (3) years supervisory or management experience in a health care environment is required.
  • Significant and progressive management-level experience within Human Resources is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Administration, Management, Business Administration, or the equivalent from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources Administration, Management, Business Administration, or the equivalent is preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM SCP preferred

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel), Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
