Job Summary
The Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow performs assessment, treatment, supervision, teaching, research, and consultation as dictated by the fellowship curriculum, under the supervision of the Director of Integrated Behavioral Health, a Staff Psychologist/HSPP, and other appropriate clinical personnel. The term of the fellowship is two (2) years.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
Professional Services of Post-Doctoral Fellow:
- Provide integrated behavioral health services while under the supervision of an HSPP.
- Work with an integrated team of behavioral health and medical providers to provide robust patient care.
- Assist practice management in education of staff in the delivery of patient services.
- Assist in development and implementation of quality assurance, utilization review, quality improvement, and clinical pathway programs incorporating findings and recommendations into operations at the Practice Site and with hospitalized patients.
- Provide patients with appropriate referrals for a variety of behavioral health needs (short term psychotherapy, long term psychotherapy, and inpatient treatment as needed) both within and outside of JPCHC system.
- Prepare and present two to three didactic style trainings per year to other trainees (e.g. practicum students and doctoral interns) on topics related to patient care, integrated behavioral health, and other areas associated with the implementation of care.
- Provide supervision and consultation to trainees on a wide range of topics (therapy, basic patient care, testing, etc.).
- Perform other Post-Doctoral Fellow services as may reasonably be requested by JPCHC.
Administrative Services of Post-Doctoral Fellow:
- Meet and collaborate with HSSP for supervision for at least 2 hours per week to ensure clinical work meets standards for obtaining licensure. Uphold all applicable policies of the agency to ensure quality work.
- Assist licensed supervisors in the provision of supervision of lower level trainees (Practicum students, Assistantship Students, Doctoral Interns) by providing additional supervision and consultation.
- Support quality improvement, collaborative practice and other efforts directed toward improving clinical practice, patient care outcomes, resource utilization and cost effectiveness within the continuum of patient care. This includes participation on task forces and supporting the implementation of initiatives directed to improving patient care.
- Perform other administrative duties and responsibilities at the Practice Site as may be reasonably requested by JPCHC.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D in Psychology from an APA-approved doctoral program.
- Must have completed a clinical psychology internship, preference is given to those who have completed an APA-Accredited Internship.
