Job Summary:

The Dental Assistant is responsible for preparing treatment/ operation rooms for patients. They will review patient records and relay results to patient as needed. They will be responsible for collaborating with Dentist to ensure the highest level of comfort and quality care for our patients.

Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated writing skills to effectively communicate with vendors, staff and other third parties.
  • Assist dentist during dental treatment procedures.
  • Take and develop patient x-rays.
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Teach patients how to practice good oral hygiene.
  • Maintain office equipment and supply orders
  • Operational knowledge of telephones, fax machines, postage machines, and other office equipment.
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills needed to develop rapport and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Demonstrated ability in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work with peers in a team situation, supervise and create a positive work environment for team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Indiana Dental Radiographer License required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support from accredited entity.
  • Graduate of an accredited dental assisting training program preferred.
  • Three years of experience working as a Dental Assistant preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of patients served.
