As our 340B Referral Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in connecting eligible patients to essential medications through the 340B Drug Pricing Program supporting affordability, continuity of care, and chronic disease management for our communities.
The 340B Referral Specialist ensures that patients are accurately referred and documented under the 340B Program, working closely with clinic staff, pharmacy teams, and external partners. You’ll serve as a central point of contact for program coordination, compliance tracking, and referral optimization to ensure JPCHC maintains a fully compliant and impactful 340B program.

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Referral & Documentation Support
- Review and verify patient eligibility for 340B referrals using EMR (EPIC preferred) and demographic criteria
- Ensure timely, accurate entry of referral data to support audit-readiness and compliance
- Maintain clear documentation of communication, referral outcomes, and supporting records
Program Compliance & Audit Preparedness
- Understand and apply federal regulations and JPCHC policies related to the 340B Drug Pricing Program
- Perform routine audits to identify potential issues (e.g., duplicate discounts, ineligible use)
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient and referral records
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a liaison between internal departments, hospitals, providers, vendors, and other referral sources
- Identify and implement process improvements related to documentation, workflows, and software usage
- Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams to support program success
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Pharmacy, or related field preferred
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in healthcare or pharmacy operations; prior experience with 340B highly preferred
- Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis)
- Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred) and 340B platforms (e.g., Apexus, McKesson)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Training Requirements: Must complete Apexus 340B University On-Demand and 340B University for Health Centers On-Demand within the first 90 days of employment
Physical Demands
- Ability to work at a desk in an office environment for extended periods
- Occasional travel may be required
