Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight
- Lead the Clinical Informatics Program across all clinical departments and regions
- Guide and support a team of informatics professionals, including training specialists, super users, and physician builders
- Serve as a trusted liaison between clinical teams and IT to align Epic functionality with real-world workflows
Training, Optimization & User Experience
- Oversee training programs for new hires, Epic upgrades, and refresher sessions
- Support quality improvement and value-based initiatives by aligning informatics tools with clinical and population health goals
- Standardize and optimize EHR usage with tools like SmartSets, SmartPhrases, and clinical decision support systems
Program Development & Governance
- Coordinate the Physician Builder Program, manage 0.2 FTE allocations, and ensure timely deliverables
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle and Front Office to ensure accurate documentation and billing workflows
- Monitor system enhancements, federal regulations, and informatics best practices to ensure continuous compliance and innovation
Performance & Stakeholder Communication
- Track performance metrics, adoption rates, and training outcomes
- Share insights and strategic recommendations with executive leaders and clinical governance bodies
Required Qualifications
- Clinical background (RN, MD, or other licensure preferred) combined with formal informatics or EHR training
- 5+ years of experience in clinical informatics, health IT leadership, or Epic optimization
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams and EHR implementations or optimization projects
- Epic certification(s) or familiarity with Epic tools and functionality (e.g., SmartSets, Order Sets, CDS)
- Strong skills in change management, adult learning, and communication across clinical and technical audiences
- Experience in a community health, FQHC, or value-based care setting strongly preferred
