Job Summary: Desktop Support Tech

The Desktop Support Tech provides PC hardware and software support to all Jane Pauley Community Health Network, Inc. users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Provides technical hardware and software support to all JPCHC users.
  • Installs and moves equipment as needed.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots network and phone issues.
  • Provides client networking connectivity and telecommunications support.
  • Maintains and tracks hardware inventory.
  • Tracks, maintains and documents user support issues.
  • Desktop/Laptop, phone and printer set-up and maintenance.
  • Engage with vendors/providers to support hardware, software and other IT Services
  • Provides status updates and reports to Project Lead/Managers.
  • Assists and consults with other analysts on various support issues or projects.
  • Identify needs for function-specific new policies and procedures; and to implement upon approval.
  • Demonstrates ability and skill in written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Safe driving and operation of a vehicle as necessary to perform job duties. Must have reliable transportation and proof of insurance.

Education / Experience:

  • Positive attitude and good customer service skills.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Desire to learn and take direction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of PC hardware/software components.
  • Associates degree in related field or professional experience of two (2) or more years.
  • Experience with supporting Microsoft Windows and Active Directory preferred (not required).
  • CompTIA Healthcare IT, A+, and/or Network+ certifications preferred (not required).
  • In lieu of certifications, proven technical knowledge and experience can be accepted.
  • The ability to life up to 50 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate and understanding of health care needs of diverse populations and the capacity to organize health services around diverse needs.
